To help you prepare for your trip, here are some packing tips you may find helpful.
It is best to pack all liquids, creams, or gels in your luggage that you will check at the airport (if applicable). If you need to bring any liquids, creams or gels in your carry-on bag with you, they must all fit in a 1-quart bag (ziplock bags works great for this). Please read the TSA checklist for additional information: https://www.tsa.gov/travel/travel-tips/travel-checklist
For checked bags, even with a luggage tag, it is best to tie on a unique piece of fabric or something similar which will allow you to easily spot your bag(s) as they come around the carousel. The brighter, the better! You will be surprised how often a piece of luggage looks exactly like yours!
Make sure to pack any important documentation (identification, airline tickets, etc.) in your carry-on bag (never in your checked bags!), readily accessible. It is also best to pack your keys or anything else valuable in your carry-on in the off chance your luggage was ever lost. It is very unlikely this would happen, however it is better to plan for the worst than hope for the best! We also recommend packing at minimum one days worth of clothing in your carry on just in case anything were to happen with your checked luggage. If you are going to a warm destination, make sure to pack essentials such as bathing suits, sunscreen, etc.
Although you can’t pack liquids in your carry-on (except in the 1-quart bag), you can pack food! Feel free to make sandwiches or anything else to bring in your carry-on so that you can eat it in the air on your way to your destination. In general, you will only be served cookies/crackers on your flight(s), so plan accordingly!
